Our current activity program:
Nature Walk // 11 00 – 13 00
On this walk we will explore the wildlife to be found swimming in the water, running through the forest and growing in the ground. We will look at the tracks and signs animals leave behind and the useful plants that grow around us. Route is 1.5km over slightly rough ground but is not strenuous.
All ages welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear and bring a bottle of water especially if it is warm.
Den Building 13 30 – 1530
Survival fun for the family. Learn to build a shelter to keep you warm when you’re out in the wild, and discover the basics of finding food and water.
Suitable for younger audiences, children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear and bring a bottle of water, especially if it is warm.
Highland Safari // 19 00 – 21 30
Take a walk along the river and up into the woods, exploring the local wildlife. Walking later in the day improves our chances of seeing species such as deer and badger.
Better suited to adults and older children, however all are welcome. Route is over rough ground in parts but is not strenuous. Minors must be accompanied by an adult and please bring a warm layer as the temperature can drop in the evening. Unfortunately, we cannot allow dogs on this event.
Nature Hike // 11 30 – 1630
For those looking for a longer expedition – exploring the areas history and natural heritage – this walk is ideal. The route covers 11km, following the circular path to Inverfarigaig. Through mixed woodland with scenic views across Loch Ness, it also provides a good chance to see red squirrels. Upon reaching Inverfarigaig we will stop for a pack lunch, around 1230. We will return via the Falls of Foyers, with the opportunity to stop at the local shop and café.
The route is suitable for most capable walkers, following waymarked paths and trails but with some steep sections. If you have any questions about whether this walk would be suitable for you, please ask at reception. Wear sturdy footwear, bring plenty of drinking water and suitable outdoor/walking clothing. You are required to bring a packed lunch.
