Camping and facilities

We will offer you a warm Highland welcome in our well equipped, 5* camping and caravanning club site.

Arrival time

You can arrive any time from 2pm until 8pm. If you are going to arrive later than 6pm please give us a call to let us know your estimated time of arrival.

Check out time

Please leave your pitch by 12 noon on day of departure. If you’d like to extend your stay, visit the reception in the morning (or before) and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Please note, for Wigwam cabins the check out time is 11 am. You can find out more about staying in one of our cabins on our Wigwam cabin page.

Facilities

We have so many facilities on site to provide you with a really wonderful stay:

  • An award winning amenity block, with family and baby changing rooms.
  • An enclosed children’s play area
  • Farm Shop with a Taste of Scotland accreditation
  • Chemical Disposal Point
  • Backpacker Facilities
  • Wifi available in the bistro
  • Designated Dog Walk, around the river and Loch shore.
  • Laundry facilities (closed during COVID pandemic)

Our reception

Our Reception is where you will find our helpful and friendly team who have knowledge of the local area.  Leaflets providing information on local walks and other attractions are available and the staff will be happy to help you plan your routes.  There are many beautiful walks around the area including the famous Falls of Foyers and the South Loch Ness Trail, which can be completed in sections.

Pets

We welcome pets and dogs at Loch Ness Shores, but they must be kept on a short lead under control while on the campsite. There is a dog walk adjacent to the site and we have walking maps available in the reception for those who want to explore the area further. Please keep the walks clean by using doggie bags at all times, these can be disposed of in any general waste bin.

Activities

There are so many activities to try, such as our motor boats or kayaks. We will be confirming our other activities for Summer 2020 soon.

Food and drink on site

We have a shop filled with the best of Scottish food, sourcing as much as we can locally, if you fancy cooking for yourself.

We hope you enjoy your stay with us. If you need assistance please do not hesitate to ask, the team all live locally and want to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible.   If you have any suggestions or ideas on how we could improve your visit please let us know.  We promote our site as a tranquil place to come which everyone can enjoy, however, please be considerate of other visitors by respecting quiet time.  The play area is closed at 2100 and from 2300 to 0700 there should be no noise on site or movement of vehicles, except in emergencies.

Our environment

We are very proud of our environmental footprint and use of renewable energy to heat our sustainable building and provide hot water.  Help us to make the site as environmenally friendly as possible by recycling all your waste (paper, glass, cardboard, food waste). There are separate bins for each located in the service areas and in the compound near the entrance/barrier. 

Please leave no trace; respect the local wildlife and their habitats.  Leave no rubbish and please do not collect leaves, wood or branches on or off site.

Public Transport – The nearest Bus Stop is in Lower Foyers near the site entrance and public phone box.   Reception can help with timetables.

Access

The site is across two levels with the Reception, Shop, Airstream Diner, Laundry, Toilet & Shower block at level one.  If you have any difficulty walking we would recommend that you request a pitch on the lower level.

The upper level has a Wigloo (2 toilets and hand wash basins) the campers’ shelter, children’s playground and an area for ball games.  There are Wigwams, super service, hard standing and grass pitches with and without electric for tents and campervans on both levels.

Free Wi-Fi is available in the bistro building and on the patio area using wireless network Loch Ness Shores WiFi.

Toilets and Showers (including shower rooms) are located in the main utility block. When these facilities are being cleaned (11.30am to 1.00pm each day), toilets are available in the bistro building.   

Accessible shower and toilets and laundry are situated at the East end of the utility block with an outside clothes drying area adjacent. 

Dishwashing facilities are available at both ends of the utility block and in the designated sink in the laundry room.

Our Site Shop sells the best of local and Scottish food We also stock postcards, local maps, souvenirs, camping and calor gas and some camping accessories.   Please order any newspapers, milk, bread and rolls the day before.  Our Airstream Diner is now closed, but in its place we will be opening our new Bistro, opening in the Winter of 2019.
