flora and fauna
The spectacular flora and fauna, offers something for everyone with regular sighting of wildlife such as red squirrels, badgers, wild goats, otters, bats and deer and over 40 specifies of wild birds likely to visit the site and surrounding area. Numbers confirmed by a RSPB survey in 2012, (once on site ask for a copy of the species list), approximately half of these birds fall into the rare (species of medium conservation concern) or in danger (species of high conservation) category.
Wildlife hides are available and walks, ranging from a short leisurely stroll to Foyers Pier, to a wide range of forestry paths in the vicinity, offer numerous options for everyone. There is also an opportunity to take part in a range of organised activities including walks, bird watching, geo-caching, plus archery and mini-bus tours of the wider area.

Wigwam® Cabins
Our Wigwam® Cabins are situated on the upper level of our camp site which provides stunning views across Loch Ness.
Each cabin is crafted from locally grown timber, in keeping with our green ethos, and is fitted with a wooden sleeping platform with a comfy foam mattress for a restful night’s sleep. The platform is easily packed away during the day to provide more space.
Our cabins are fully insulated and heated and each has its own picnic table, benches and barbecue area. They accommodate 4 – 5 people and come equipped with a Microwave, Kettle, along with a TV socket.
Some of our Wigwam cabins are Pet Friendly – please ask.

Explore Highland
Explore Highland offer visitors to Loch Ness Shores various paddle sport activities.
– Open Canoeing on Loch Ness
– Kayaking on Loch Ness
– River Kayaking by Loch Ness
– River Duckie Adventures by Loch Ness
The above are available for half or a full day depending on your level of experience. Most activities are suitable for children between the ages of 10 and 18 when accompanied by an adult on the water. Please ask for advice before booking.

South Loch Ness Trail
The South Loch Ness Trail is an exciting trail for all types of user that was launched in2011. The trail stretches for approximately 28 miles between Loch Tarff near Fort Augustus to Torbreck on the edge of Inverness via Whitebridge, Foyers, Inverfarigaig and Dores. WildNess
Wildness offer a selection of activities for the whole family including archery, guided hillwalking and geocaching.
Archery
Beginner taster sessions in archery. The sessions will approximately 1 hour 20 mins.
Guided Hill Walks
WildNess will be providing guided walks around the local area around Foyers and further afield in the highlands. These walks will have different themes and will be graded in difficulty and offered on a timetable to clients at Lochness Shore Campsite.
WildNess will also offer wild camping trips to clients so that they can experience journeying through the landscape and learning about how to be self sufficient and how to “leave no trace” in wild places.
Geocaching
WildNess will be providing training in how to use GPS units and there will be different loops to help visitors explore the area near Lochness Shores and slightly further away. These will be graded and there will be an opportunity to hire units to get involved. There will be the following treasure hunts:
